Celebrating Our First Fifty Years

In 2007, AYO's flagship ensemble, the Australian Youth Orchestra, turned 50. We celebrated this milestone with alumni events across Australia, special 50th Anniversary merchandise, and an unforgettable European Tour.

To celebrate the achievements of the Australian Youth Orchestra over the last fifty years, AYO is pleased to announce the release of a limited edition CD from ABC Classics, featuring live recordings by the orchestra from 1959-2005.

We have also released our own free commemorative publication 'The First Fifty Years' that gives an amazing written and pictorial overview of the orchestra's development since its first performance in the Great Restaurant of the David Jones cafeteria. It also includes a full performance history from 1957-2007.
