AYO and Accenture - a new partnership
29 August 2008
The Australian Youth Orchestra (AYO) is delighted to announce Accenture as its principal sponsor from September 2008.
Global management consulting, technology and outsourcing company, Accenture, has been an active supporter of AYO for two years and was the presenting sponsor of its 50th Anniversary concert in 2007.
In addition, the Accenture Australia Foundation will provide financial assistance to an outstanding young musician each year to enable them to participate in AYO and assist their musical studies.
“What better way to have a positive impact on the community than by supporting an organisation such as Australian Youth Orchestra. It’s an organisation that inspires talented young Australian musicians by providing the support, training and expertise they need to reach their musical goals,“ said Jack Percy, Managing Director, Australia, Accenture.
Colin Cornish, Chief Executive Officer, AYO, said Australian Youth Orchestra is committed to providing inspiring opportunities for the finest young Australian musicians to become tomorrow’s greats.
“We are very grateful to Accenture for supporting our training programs since 2007 and we are excited about the possibilities that this new partnership will offer. We look forward to working together to achieve new levels of performance,” said Mr Cornish.
AYO already has a unique connection with Accenture, with several past and current participants, including Lathika Vithanage (violin, 2001-2007) [pictured], being Accenture employees. Mr Cornish says AYO looks forward to developing these connections further and welcoming Accenture into the AYO family.
