The AYO’s strong standing with Australia’s professional orchestras enables us to offer
exceptional opportunities for the development of your career as a musician in unique and
practical partnership projects. The AYO Orchestral Career Development Programs provide
you with the critical link and highly effective stepping stone into a professional music career.
In these specialised programs, you will work closely with professional musicians and gain
the insights and career preparation that you can only get from being in a professional
orchestral environment.

Orchestral Fellowships

In 2011, AYO is offering fellowships across the full range of orchestral instruments: strings with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra (MSO), and wind, brass and percussion with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra (TSO).  These fellowships will give you the opportunity to work with professional mentors and gain experience that can make the difference when it’s time for that important audition.  This is your opportunity to make yourself known and help secure yourself a place on the casual list of a professional orchestra.

TSO & AYO in Concert

In this program, the most advanced instrumentalists are given the chance to work alongside the members of the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra in Hobart in the preparation and performance of large-scale orchestral repertoire.
