Scholarships for AYO Musicians

The Australian Youth Orchestra’s Financial Assistance Program ensures our finest young musicians across Australia can participate in the AYO’s programs held throughout the year, regardless of  geography or their personal circumstances.

All students who participate in AYO programs contribute fees ranging from $720 (AYO Young Symphonists), and $930 (AYO National Music Camp), through to $3800 (for our international tours). Many of the participants undertake their own fundraising activities to help pay their AYO registration fees, but the endless expenses associated with being a music student – instruments, lessons, sheet music, HECS, rent and other costs of living – can be a major consideration for students deciding to accept or reject their offer of placement in an AYO program.

The AYO endeavours to make its programs accessible to all Australian musicians and aims to reduce the cost of providing these invaluable opportunities.
