Andrew Lorenz (Violin, National Music Camp/AYO 1967-70) has enjoyed a varied and successful career as solo violinist, chamber musician, orchestral leader, teacher and conductor. He has also lead a number of Australia's leading chamber groups comprising AYO Alumni, notably the New England Ensemble, Australian Piano Trio and Phoenix Ensemble with which he toured extensively throughout Australia, Europe, North America and Asia.

ACCENTURE SUPPORTS BRIGHT YOUNG STAR

AYO’s Principal Sponsor and Digital Partner, Accenture, is committed to supporting young musicians to help them reach their goals, and deliver their greatest performances. The Accenture Scholarship provides financial support for the recipient to participate in AYO’s programs, and to pursue further study, travel, or instrument acquisition. This year’s recipient is Jonathan Bekes.

A TRIBUTE TO LEONARD PORTER

Monday 29th February, 2016
Honorary life member, Leonard Porter passed away on the 18th of February aged 93. Len was the first administrator of the Australian Youth Orchestra (formerly known as the National Music Camp Association) and oversaw the establishment of AYO’s international touring program in the 1970s. AYO’s CEO, Colin Cornish paid tribute to Len Porter at his funeral.

MOMENTUM ENSEMBLE: A MUSICIAN'S PERSPECTIVE
