RAY CHEN IN HIS AYO DEBUT WITH SIMONE YOUNG

Our mid-year season for the Australian Youth Orchestra is rapidly approaching and promises another powerful and exciting concert. Simone Young will conduct a program of orchestral masterworks – Stravinsky’s impassioned Symphony in Three Movements, Sibelius’ epic Violin Concerto in D minor and Tchaikovsky’s moody Symphony No. 6 in B minor, Op.74 'Pathetique'.

GLOBAL ACCESS: AYO'S DIGITAL CONNECTION

The AYO Digital Connection Initiative (DCI), developed in partnership with AYO’s Principal Sponsor, Accenture, has given AYO an opportunity to open up a gateway to classical music education for highly skilled young musicians around Australia regardless of their location. AYO is currently in the midst of trialling a range of technological developments that have increased access and established opportunities for community outreach across the country.

AYO STRING QUARTET IN REGIONAL NSW

Monday 16th December, 2013
AYO String Quartet’s whirlwind tour of regional NSW took place in October, bringing AYO’s programs to a close for 2013. The quartet played for audiences in Uralla, Glen Innes, Coffs Harbour, and Tamworth, as well as participating in a range of workshops and tutorials for school groups in the area.
