Aurora Heinrich, double bass

Aurora is currently studying a Bachelor of Music (Double Bass-Performance) with Alex Henery at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where she is a recipient of the Kathleen E Armstrong scholarship.  Aurora attended MLC School on a full music scholarship.  In 2009, Aurora attended the Australian String Academy, undertaking lessons and masterclasses with Joel Quarrington.  In 2010, with the MLC School Chamber Orchestra, she performed in concerts across Spain and premiered new Australian music, particularly James Humberstone’s ‘Miniature Concerto for Double Bass’, which was composed specifically for the tour. 

Aurora is a member of the Australian Youth Orchestra and the Sydney Symphony Sinfonia and has played casually with the Sydney Symphony.  As a chamber musician she has performed with the Sydney-based baroque ensemble 'Salut Baroque' in Sydney and Canberra, playing baroque bass.
