AYO Chamber Players
Quickly becoming one of the preeminent training programs for players seriously engaged in chamber music, the AYO Chamber Players program offers you the opportunity to learn from and work with some of the world’s greatest chamber musicians.
$820. AYO will arrange and cover all travel, meals and accommodation costs associated with this program.
- 18–28 years inclusive, as at 1 January 2012
- Minimum standard AMEB AMusA or equivalent
- Open to individual violin, viola, cello and piano players, as well as established string quartets and piano trios
Hailing from Brisbane, Dale Barltrop has performed across North America, Europe and Australia. Dale was recently appointed Concertmaster of the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra in Canada.
Monica Curro - Violin
Monica Curro studied violin with John Curro at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and completed a Masters of Music Degree with Walter Verdehr at Michigan State University.
Caroline Henbest - Viola
Born in England, Caroline Henbest studied at the Yehudi Menuhin School and the Guildhall School of Music with Robert Masters and David Takeno.
Joshua Roman - Cello
Dubbed a ‘Classical Rock Star’ by the press, cellist Joshua Roman has earned a national reputation for performing a wide range of repertoire with an absolute commitment to communicating the essence of the music at its most organic level.
Howard Penny - Cello
Howard Penny was born in Canberra and after studies with Nelson Cooke moved to Vienna, studying with Tobias Kühne, Andre Navarra, Boris Pergamenshikov and William Pleeth.
Victor Asuncion - Piano
Hailed by the Washington Post for his ‘poised and imaginative playing’, pianist Victor Santiago Asuncion is recognized as a pianist of innate musical sensitivity, fiery temperament, and superb technique.
