Whether you’re a classical connoisseur or you simply love music, there’s something for everyone at our free summer concert series.

National Music Camp has always attracted a stellar lineup of professional musicians, and this year is no different! Pianist Anna Goldsworthy, trumpeter David Elton and violinist Dale Barltrop will all make solo appearances, and two symphony orchestras will be led by esteemed conductors; Giordano Bellincampi of the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, and Ariel Zuckermann of the Israel Chamber Orchestra.

Audiences can expect symphonic greats by Beethoven, Mozart, Mahler and more. A concert series also presents the perfect opportunity to explore some hidden gems, such as Hugo Wolf’s Italian Serenade, Manuel de Falla’s Three Cornered Hat suite, and an Australian orchestral work by composer Melody Eötvös.

What makes these concerts particularly exceptional is that they feature 220 of the country’s most talented young musicians, who have each completed a highly competitive audition process to gain their seat in the orchestra. The annual gathering of young performers, composers and arts administrators at National Music Camp is one of the highlights of the year for many young Australian musicians, and it’s inspiring to witness what can be achieved when these musical minds combine their enthralling energy and passion for music.
