Brett Yang, violin
Brett Yang is a former prize winner of the Brisbane International Youth Music Festival and is a winning recipient for the Vada Jefferies Bach prize, Ronald David Clifford prize and the Matilda Jane Aplin prize at the Queensland Conservatorium. Brett has made solo appearances with the Queensland Conservatorium Symphony and Corda Spiritus performing the Tchaikovsky violin concerto and Mozart violin concerto no.4. He was invited to perform at the 2011 Kendall National Violin Competition and was the 2nd prizewinner of the Queensland Concerto competition in 2010. Brett has performed as part of the 2010 Bangalow Music Festival, 2011 Australian Festival of Chamber Music and the 2013 Musica Viva music festival. He has served as concertmaster for the Queensland Conservatorium Symphony Orchestra. Brett’s professional engagements include performing with the Sydney Sinfonia, Queensland Symphony and Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. He is currently under the tutelage of Michele Walsh at the Queensland Conservatory.
