Operations Coordinator

AYO currently has the role of Operations Coordinator available in its Sydney office. 

The successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of the operational management of AYO’s core residential programs and other activities, with an emphasis on communications, program delivery, production and travel. Working closely with the rest of the operations team based in Melbourne, the role is best suited to a highly organised individual capable of working autonomously and in collaboration with other departments.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join a leading arts organisation.

Key duties and responsibilities include: 

  • Management of AYO activities around Australia and overseas
  • Communicating with AYO musicians, applicants and next of kin
  • Coordinating production requirements to ensure AYO activities run smoothly
  • Preparing documentation of a high standard for AYO activities

The Australian Youth Orchestra relies on a network of volunteers across Australia. Most of the volunteer work occurs during an AYO program or activity and can include:

  • Administrative support in the AYO's Sydney office 
  • Artistic Program personnel work on our programs
  • Organising and bowing music parts for rehearsal and performance in the two months preceding an AYO program (music knowledge is essential here)
