Monica Curro,
violin tutor and chamber music coordinator

Monica Curro studied violin with John Curro at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and completed a Masters of Music Degree with Walter Verdehr at Michigan State University.

Monica toured the USA in 1988 with the Sydney Symphony and was a core member of the Australian Chamber Orchestra for five years. In 1997, she joined the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra as Assistant Principal Second Violin and regularly appears in the MSO Chamber Music series. She has appeared as soloist and Concertmaster with the Auckland Chamber Orchestra and as soloist with the Academy of Melbourne.

Monica teaches at Melbourne University and the Australian National Academy of Music, where she was in residence in 2004 as a member of the ANAM Quartet. She has tutored for the Australian Youth Orchestra, National Music Camp and Young Symphonists on many occasions.
