Australian Youth Orchestra with conductor Richard Mills

Take a step into the operatic world and experience the mesmerizing music of Wagner’s Parsifal. In association with Victorian Opera, the Australian Youth Orchestra will take to the orchestra pit for a new production directed by Roger Hodgman, featuring some of the world’s greatest Wagnerian singers.

Parsifal is a medieval tale of duty, compassion and redemption. The story follows the unsuspecting Parsifal as he becomes embroiled in a quest to save a life and protect the Holy Grail. The opera holds all the Wagnerian characteristics we know and love, and the story’s musical backdrop is laden with heart-wrenching harmonies and leitmotifs aplenty.

Beneath the stage and under the baton of conductor Richard Mills, the Australian Youth Orchestra will play an essential role in the production; promising Australia’s young musicians a valuable opportunity to explore the magnificent realm of opera.
