Andrew Jezek was born in Canberra, Australia in 1969 and had his first lessons in violin and piano at the age of ten. He studied viola at the Canberra School of Music with Vincent Edwards and Charmian Gadd and graduated with honours in 1991. He continued his studies in Europe at the Hochschule für Musik in Munich with Jürgen Weber (viola) and at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna with Karl Österreicher (conducting).
As a chamber musician he has performed with renowned Viennese ensembles such as Ensemble Kontrapunkte, Österreichische Kammersymphoniker, Die Reihe and the Wiener Kammeroper. He has worked with numerous groups such as Marcello Onofri Camerata, Vienna Art Orchestra, Oskar Aichinger Octett, Alegre Correa. As a baroque violist he has performed and recorded CD's with Concerto Armonico Wien and Le monde classique. He has also been involved in numerous music theater-, film- and television productions.
From 1993-95 he was a member of the Austrian Radio Symphony Orchestra (RSO Wien).
He has been a member of Klangforum Wien since 1996.
