AYO Orchestral Management

An orchestra is more than just the musicians on stage. Behind every great arts organisation is a team of dedicated arts administrators, whose job is to make sure things are running smoothly. The AYO Orchestral Management program offers participants a peek backstage at the many diverse and exciting roles that exist in the world of orchestral music. The program provides students with hand-on experience and development of skills that will see them excel in the professional field.

What to expect on the program

As a participant in the program, you’ll develop the skills to help keep the orchestra running smoothly as you master the essentials in stage management, foresight, and planning. You’ll have the chance to put your new skills to the test as you expertly manage the two-week rehearsals and concert series at AYO National Music Camp.

From the minute you arrive at AYO National Music Camp, you’ll experience a whirl of new faces and first encounters with Australia’s greatest best young players, composers, sound engineers and music journalists. With an action-packed schedule it’s important that your focus is on the program at hand. Rest assured you will be well looked after, allowing you to concentrate on your preparation and performance. We provide airport transfers, comfortable shared accommodation and three meals per day for every camp attendee.
