Louisa Trewartha

Upon completion of a Bachelor of Music at the University of Melbourne in 2010, Louisa Trewartha commenced work as a freelance trumpet player in Melbourne. In 2013, Louisa completed a year at the Australian National Academy of Music, learning from David Elton and Tristram Williams.

Louisa performs most often in the styles of baroque, classical, opera/ballet, rock/pop, brass ensemble, and contemporary, regularly performing with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and Orchestra Victoria, and having performed with Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, Australian Youth Orchestra, Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, and the Australian Chamber Orchestra.

Louisa was named the Garry Schyman Scholarship Recipient for 2015/2016, which will support her MA in Scoring for Film and Visual Media at the Pulse College in Ireland.

As well as performing, Louisa is a brass teacher, composer and arranger.
