Peter Duggan graduated from the Canberra School of Music in 1991, having studied oboe with David Nuttall. Peter was then invited to attend the Pacific Music Festival in Japan, and after that he moved to Germany for further oboe study with Jochen Mueller-Brincken at the Wuerzburg Hochschule fur Musik. Peter returned to Australia in 1995 to join the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra as Principal Cor Anglais, the position he still holds. He has also played with the Canberra, Melbourne and Tasmanian symphony orchestras, as well as The Brandenburg Orchestra on baroque oboe.

Peter is also actively involved with music education and recently wrote and directed a series of concerts for junior primary school children. Titled "Orchestra Fantastica", the concert is designed to introduce young minds to the sights and sounds of orchestral instruments and the wonders of listening to the orchestra.
