Interview and portfolio requirements
All applicants for AYO’s Words About Music, Orchestral Management and Sound Production programs are offered an interview, and asked to provide a portfolio. Composition applicants are asked to provide a portfolio.
Interview requirements
All Orchestral Management, Words About Music and Sound Production applicants will be interviewed by video call by the relevant program tutor on Tuesday 5 October. Interviews are roughly 15 minutes in length, and will involve a short discussion about your career aspirations and reasons for applying to the program.
Portfolio requirements
Applicants will also be asked to provide a portfolio of supporting materials. Portfolios and interview results are completely confidential and will not be discussed outside AYO, nor will they be made available to any other organisation.
Sound Production

This should include your educational background, musical background and any previous experience (although this is not a requirement) in the area of sound production. - Written statement

Words About Music

What do you consider to be an effective use of social media to communicate about music?

One written piece that you consider to be excellent music journalism. This could be a concert review, feature, passage of prose from a book etc. Provide a brief statement discussing what you like about your chosen piece, and what makes it well-written
